What to Expect

Our worship gatherings are created to extend the welcome of family, draw us together to the hope of the Gospel, and open each heart up to the joy of following Jesus.

Each service invites worshipers to participate in prayer, song, fellowship, and learning. By walking the contours of our Gospel story together, we are formed into a church of disciples, equipped and encouraged to bear the fruit of the Spirit in God’s world.

A summary of our weekly service liturgy can be found below.

  • The first section of our liturgy extends worshipers the opportunity to open their hearts to the work of the Holy Spirit through fully embodied corporate practices of worship.

    Gospel Welcome
Service begins with a biblically based invitation to enter into the worship space and time that God has set for us. This Gospel Welcome is grounded in the Psalm of the day and concludes with a brief prayer for the service and congregation to set up the worship set.

    Worship Set
The Gospel is “re-presented” in a dialogical flow: God’s self-revelation moves us to adoration – In His presence we acknowledge sin and need to draw near in confession – We receive in faith the assurance of forgiveness and respond in thanksgiving.

    Prayer & Peace
The congregation now focuses on the horizontal reality of worship in joining together to pray the same words of hope and share the present peace of Christ. School-age children are released to their classrooms with a Kids Ministry facilitator during this time. Baptisms, new member confirmations, and baby dedications are celebrated in this space.

  • The second section of our liturgy invites the congregation to hear the voice of God in His Word and to receive what He says to us in faithful obedience.

    Scripture Reading
After guests are seated, the central text for the day’s sermon is read out loud for the congregation and featured on our screens.

    Sermon
The word of God is presented through exegetical preaching, with an emphasis on presence before practicality. The sermon brings us to a central tension within the text that each person is invited to consider and prayerfully respond to with the guidance of the Spirit.

    Response Moment
To conclude the sermon, a moment of reflection is provided, as a song plays for people to participate with, either through singing or silent contemplation. The Prayer Team is made available at this time for those seeking intercession or counsel.

  • The final section of our liturgy brings us to the table of Christ to enjoy his life and sends us out to share it with the world.

    Communion
After we have reflected on the Word, present and active with us by the power of the Spirit, we come to the table the Lord sets for us. School-age children are welcomed back at this time as a pastor sets up the table and begins our communion liturgy. The congregation comes forward to receive the elements, and the time is concluded with a chorus reprised from one of the morning’s worship songs.

    Dismissal
After enjoying God’s provision we move to share His abundance. Guests are invited to partner with The Garden through financial support and serving in our ministries and events. A prayer over the offering and a benediction over the congregation concludes the morning service.

Garden Kids

The Garden believes that children are not just the future of the Church but its present too, so we take seriously the safety and growth and joy of every child who attends one of our gatherings.

Each of our volunteers is a member who has passed a background check and been trained in up-to-date safety protocols. This passion to keep our kids safe is matched by the passion of our staff and volunteers to see them grow and shine in the light of Christ.

Children learn and play together in spaces tailored to their stages of development. School-aged children join us each Sunday service for worship and prayer before the sermon and return after it for communion with their families.

If you would like to register your child for our Kids Ministry ahead of your visit, you may do so at this link.
